Bird in Hand
Bird in Hand wines logoBird in Hand is a family owned company based in the Adelaide Hills in South Australia and was established when Andrew Nugent (viticulturalist, winemaker and owner) moved deeper into the Adelaide Hills and planted vineyards on Bird in Hand Road, Woodside. The grapes are grown in the mineral rich soils above the 1879 “Bird in Hand” gold mine. The property includes 100 acres of vineyards & olive grove, cellar door, wine & olive production facilities and the picturesque family residence. A second family property is in the Clare Valley.

The Bird in Hand wine range is primarily sourced from the Adelaide Hills estate, with Shiraz and Riesling varietals sourced from the second family property in the Clare Valley.

Benefiting from being both the viticulturist and winemaker, Andrew Nugent, imparts meticulous attention into the creation of premium fruit driven wine. Having the expertise of Consultant Kym Milne MW (Master of Wine) to draw on for blending opinion and mentoring ensures quality of wine remains a top priority for Bird in Hand.
