Kopparossa was the brain child of two of Australia's most infamous winemakers: Gavin Hogg and Mike Press.
Gavin Hogg has been winemaking since 1973. During most of the 80s
and 90s he was one of the most senior winemakers at Mildara Blass.
He produced wines for Jamiesons Run, winning a Jimmy
Watson trophy in the process, while also winning numerous gold medals
and more than 20
trophies for various wines, mainly from Coonawarra.
Mike Press began in the wine industry in 1963 and has been chief winemaker at Seppelt, production manager at
Penfolds, winemaker at Krondorf and chief winemaker at Mildara Blass during most of the 80s and 90s.
The grapes come from the private vineyards
of Mike and Gavin in Coonawarra and Wrattonbully.
